Media Statement

The following statement can be attributed to Nick Lashutka, President & CEO, Ohio Children’s Hospital Association, in response to the Ohio House Public Health Policy Committee passage of Substitute HB 68, the SAFE Act, in the Ohio House of Representatives:

“We are disappointed in the outcome of today’s vote, which will strip away parental rights to work with medical professionals to determine what is best for their child. Instead, passing this bill will put the Ohio General Assembly in the business of practicing medicine on behalf of Ohioans. Children’s hospitals will continue to work with the Ohio General Assembly as the bill moves through the legislative process.”
